## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON OCTOBER 12, 2003, MR. JAMES OXNER CRASHED HIS PIPER COMMANCHE (N9291P A PA24-260) DURING TAKEOFF FROM PEACH ORCHARD AIRPORT, ARCHER, FL. DURING TAKEOFF MR. OXNER DRIFTED TO THE LEFT SIDE OF THE RUNWAY AND THE LEFT WING CONTACTED A BALE OF HAY WHICH CAUSED THE AIRCRAFT TO VEER TO THE LEFT. THE AIRCRAFT THEN HIT ANOTHER BALE OF HAY WITH THE PROP AND RIGHT SIDE OF THE NOSE. THE RIGHT LANDING GEAR COLLAPSED AND THE FUSELAGE BROKE APART.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB MIA04CA002](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/MIA04CA002), Oct 12, 2003: Piper PA-24-260B (N9291P), Archer, FL, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain directional control during the takeoff roll/run, which resulted in the airplane veering off the centerline of the runway and impacting an object, incurring damage.

## Other reports on N9291P (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.
