## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON OCTOBER 16, 2003, AT APPROXIMATELY 0634 MDT, FLIGHT OPTIONS 240, N247CW, A CESSNA CE-525, WAS DEPARTING ON RUNWAY 08 AT THE ALBUQUERQUE INTERNATIONAL SUNPORT, ALBUQUERQUE, NEW MEXICO. DURING THE TAKEOFF ROLL, THE PILOT FLYING NOTICED AT APPROXIMATELY 50-60 KNOTS THAT THE LEFT BRAKE WAS DRAGGING AND APPROXIMATELY 8-10 SECONDS LATER EXPERIENCED RUDDER REVERSAL. THE PILOT FLYING ABORTED THE TAKEOFF AND SHUTDOWN BOTH ENGINES. INVESTIGATION REVEALED THAT THE LEFT BRAKE WAS DRAGGING CAUSING A FIRE IN THE LEFT WHEEL WELL AND THE LEFT TIRE TO BLOW. TWO CREWMEMBERS WERE ABOARD WITH NO PASSENGERS. VMC CONDITIONS PREVAILED. THE CREW HAD RECEIVED A WEATHER BRIEFING AND WERE ON AN IFR FLIGHT PLAN. THE AIRCRAFT RECEIVED MINOR DAMAGE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
