## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB LAX04LA021](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/LAX04LA021), Oct 20, 2003: Piper PA-28-235 (N9338W), Mesa, AZ, substantial damage. Probable cause: the pilot's failure to maintain an adequate airspeed, which resulted in an inadvertent stall. Also causal, was the pilot's inadequate preflight and failure to secure the right side of the engine…

## Other reports on N9338W (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Incident 19811123083809I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19811123083809I), Nov 23, 1981: Piper PA28235 (N9338W), Tilford, SD. Engine quit, landed on a road, magneto impulse coupling failed, dowel pin jammed gears. Failed drive gear.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
