## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) N540CX EXPERIENCED DAMAGE AFTER LANDING AT LEESBURG AIRPORT WHEN THE LEFT FOOT OF THE PILOT WAS UNABLE TO APPLY LEFT RUDDER AND STEER THE NOSE WHEEL TO THE LEFT CAUSING A VERY LOW ROLLOVER. THE PILOTS LEFT FOOT CAUGHT ON HIS LEFT RUDDER PEDAL AND THE RIGHT PEDAL OF THE SIDE BY SIDE CONTROLS MAKING APPLICATION OF THE LEFT PEDAL IMPOSSIBLE WITH THE FOOT IN THE POSITION. THE PEDALS ARE BEING REDESIGNED TO MAKE THIS IMPOSSIBLE TO HAPPEN AGAIN.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB NYC04LA015](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/NYC04LA015), Oct 20, 2003: Harris BRC 540C (N540CX), Leesburg, VA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot in command's failure to maintain directional control and his inadvertent activation of the right rudder pedal.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
