## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) MR. OSTREM STATED THAT WHILE ROLLING OUT ON RWY 07 @ TTD AT APPROXIMATELY 10:30 AM LOCAL TIME, THE NOSEWHEEL FORK OF LANCAIR N20UC FAILED ALLOWING THE NOSEWHEEL TO COME OFF. AS THE NOSE BEGAN TO SETTLE, MR. OSTREM CLOSED THE ENGINE FUEL MIXTURE AND STOPPED THE ENGINE WITH THE PROPELLER HORIZONTAL TO THE GROUND, PREVENTING ENGINE OR PROPELLER DAMAGE. THE REMAINDER OF THE NOSEWHEEL ASSEMBLY SUPPORTED THE FRONT OF THE AIRCRAFT AND THERE WAS NO OTHER DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
