## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) DURING CLIMBOUT DEPARTING KAGC, PILOT SMELLED FUMES, THEN HE OBSERVED A PUFF OF BLACK SMOKE ISSUE FROM THE LOWER LEFT INSTRUMENT PANEL. HE INFORMED ALLEGHENY COUNTY TOWER THAT HE HAD SMOKE IN THE CABIN AND REQUESTED AND RECEIVED AN IMMEDIATE CLEARANCE TO RETURN AND LAND AT KAGC. HE LANDED AND TAXIED TO THE RAMP WITHOUT FURTHER ASSISTANCE. AIRPORT RESCUE AND FIRE FIGHTING EQUIPMENT RESPONDED AT THE TOWER'S REQUEST. A DEFECTIVE 60 AMP CIRCUIT BREAKER P/N S1596-60 WAS REPLACED AND AIRCRAFT WAS RETURNED TO SERVICE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
