## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) PILOT SUPPOSEDLY TOPPED OFF ALL TANKS AT BONAIRE, NETHERLAN ANTILLES (TNCB) FOR A FLIGHT THAT TOOK HIM FROM TNCB TO ARUBA (TNCA), THEN TO BARRANQUILLA, COLOMBIA (SKBQ), THEN AGAIN TO TNCA, AND THE RETURN TO TNCB AS A FINAL DESTINATION. WHILE ON APPROACH AT TNCB, AND APPROXIMATELY 3 MILES OUT AT 2500 FEET, PILOT RECEIVED LOW FUEL WARNING LIGHTS AND BOTH ENGINES FLAMED OUT SHORTLY AFTERWARDS. AIRCRAFT MADE CONTACT WITH THE GROUND APPROXIMATELY 100 YARDS SHORT OF THE RUNWAY WITH THE LANDING GEAR IN THE DOWN POSITION. THE AIRCRAFT, AT ABOUT THE SAME TIME AS GROUND CONTACT, STRUCK A CHAIN LINK FENCE AND GATE. THE AIRCRAFT FLIPPED OVER AND WAS DESTROYED. THERE IS A POSSIBILITY THAT THE ENGINES WERE BURNING MORE FUEL THAN THEY SHOULD HAVE, BUT CALCULATIONS SHOW THAT THIS FLIGHT SHOULD HAVE BEEN POSSIBLE WITH FULL TANKS. THEREFORE, IT IS SUSPECTED THAT THE TANKS WERE NOT COMPLETELY FULL PRIOR TO FIRST POINT OF DEPARTURE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB MIA04WA027](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/MIA04WA027), Nov 3, 2003: Mitsubishi MU-2B-35 (N630HA), Bonaire, NT, substantial damage

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
