## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THIS AIRCRAFT WAS PURCHASED FROM THE PREVIOUS OWNER ON 10-23-2003. IT WAS DELIVERED TO MR. BROCKMAN, THE CURRENT OWNER, AT THE TOLEDO, WA AIRPORT. THIS FLIGHT WAS THE FIRST AFTER PURCHASING THE AIRCRAFT. MR. BROCKMAN HAD VERY LITTLE TAIL WHEEL TIME, SO HE DECIDED HE NEEDED A FAMILIARIZATION CHECK RIDE WITH MR. JERRY ZABRISKI, A LOCAL PILOT WITH EXTENSIVE TAIL WHEEL TIME. THEY TOOK OFF AND FLEW THROUGH A NORMAL CHECKOUT FLIGHT. UPON LANDING THE AIRCRAFT FELT AS THOUGH THE RIGHT BRAKE HAD LOCKED UP AND WAS VEERING TO THE RIGHT. MR. ZABRISKI TOOK CONTROL AND WAS NOT ABLE TO CORRECT THE LANDING. THE LEFT MAIN LANDING GEAR CAME OUT OF THE LANDING GEAR BOX, ALLOWING THE AIRCRAFT TO CONTINUE TO SETTLE WITH CONSIDERABLE DAMAGE TO THE FUSELAGE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB SEA04LA017](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/SEA04LA017), Nov 10, 2003: Cessna 150C (N7934Z), Toledo, WA, substantial damage. Probable cause: Failure of the main landing gear attachment during the landing roll. An inadequate maintenance modification was a factor.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
