## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) MR. SHIPLEY FLEW A NON-AEROBATIC SIMULATED STRAFE PASS ON THE 1000 FOOT SHOWLINE AT THE STUART AIR SHOW ON SUNDAY NOV 9, 2003, IN F-86E, REG NO. N186FS. HIS AIRSPEED WAS APPROXIMATELY 380 KIAS. ON THE PULL OFF HE FLEW THROUGH A LARGE PYROTECHNIC EXPLOSION. THE NOSE GEAR DOOR DEPARTED THE AIRCRAFT AND LANDED ON THE GOLF COURSE JUST SOUTH OF THE AIRPORT. THE AIRCRAFT WAS SAFELY RECOVERED AT GWINN (PVT) AIRPORT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
