## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE STUDENT PILOT WAS PERFORMING TOUCH & GO'S WITH FULL STOPS. THE PILOT HAD ALREADY PERFORMED TWO SUCCESSFUL TAKE-OFF AND LANDINGS ON RUNWAY 12. THE PILOT HAD COMPLETED HIS THIRD LANDING SOUTH, ON RUNWAY 12, JUST BEYOND THE NUMBERS, BOUNCED THE AIRCRAFT, APPLIED POWER, & TOUCHED DOWN BEYOND THE TOWER. THE RIGHT WING CAME UP, AIRCRAFT STARTED TO VEER TO THE LEFT, THE PILOT APPLIED RIGHT RUDDER, & APPLIED POWER AGAIN. THE PILOT LOST CONTROL, AND THE AIRPLANE VEERED OFF TOWARDS THE EAST, TO THE LEFT OF THE RUNWAY. THE AIRPLANE CLIPPED AN ILLUMINATED RUNWAY IDENTIFIED SIGN, WENT THROUGH THE GRASS AREA BETWEEN THE TAXIWAY & THE RUNWAY, THEN ACROSS THE TAXIWAY. THE AIRPLANE STRUCK N5826E A CESSNA 150 THAT WAS TIED DOWN IN THE TIE DOWN AREA EAST OF THE RUNWAY. BOTH AIRCRAFT'S TAIL SECTIONS CAME TO REST ON TOP OF A FENCE THAT IS TO THE EAST OF THE TIE DOWN AREA, WITH THE NOSE SECTIONS OF BOTH AIRCRAFT SITTING ON THE GROUND FACING WEST. BOTH AIRCRAFT SUFFERED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE IN THE CRASH. N535W A BEECH BE-55-T42A, SUFFERED MINOR DAMAGE AS A RESULT OF THE FIRST TWO AIRCRAFT COLLIDING.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB LAX04LA044](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/LAX04LA044), Nov 14, 2003: American Champion 7GCAA (N124WD), Pacoima, CA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The student pilot's failure to maintain directional control during the landing roll, which resulted in an on-ground collision with a sign and an unoccupied airplane.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
