## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THIS ACCIDENT WAS THE RESULT OF AN INFLIGHT COLLISION BETWEENA A CESSNA C-180 AND A PIPER ARCHER. THE PIPER ARCHER WAS IN THE PATTERN TO LAND ON RUNWAY 32 AT WESTERLY. AT APPROXIMATELY 100 FEET ABOVE GROUND LEVEL AND ON FINAL TO THE RUNWAY'S DISPLACED THRESHOLD THE PIPER STRUCK THE CESSNA 180 FROM ABOVE. THE CESSNA HAD DEPARTED THE SAME RUNWAY, BUT HAD UTILIZED IT'S FULL LENGTH. AFTER THE IMPACT THE CESSNA PITCHED UP, APPARENTLY STALLED, AND THEN DOVE VERTICALLY INTO THE GROUND. THE PIPER WAS ABLE TO LAND ON RUNWAY 32, LOSING ITS RIGHT MAIN LANDING GEAR PRIOR TO COMING TO A STOP.
