CREW COORDINATION PROCEDURES WERE PERFORMED TO FIND THE FAULT OF THE POWER LOSS AND ENGINE NOISE CHANGE. CREW COORDINATION PROCEDURES ALLOWED BOTH OF THEM TO CHECK ENGINE INSTRUMENTS AND RE-ATTEMPT AN AIRCRAFT START; SIMULTANEOUSLY, THEY PERFORMED AIRCRAFT EMERGENCY PROCEDURES. A TOTAL ENGINE LOSS WAS IDENTIFIED AND RE-ATTEMPT TO START FAILED. AT APPROXIMATELY 2000' THE PIC PREPARED THE AIRCRAFT OFR THE OFF AIRPORT LANDING. THE AIRCRAFT TOUCHED DOWN IN A JUST PLOWED CORN FIELD WITH NO DAMAGE TO AIRCRAFT OR PASSENGERS. ENGINE TAGGED WITH FAA FORM 8020-2 (AIRCRAFT/PARTS IDENTIFICATION AND RELEASE) FOR FURTHER ENGINE ANALYSIS.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
