## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) PILOT REPORTED THAT WHILE IN THE RUN-UP AREA PRIOR TO TAKEOFF, HE WAS WAITING FOR THE OIL TEMPERATURE TO COME UP. HE WAS ADJUSTING THE THROTTLE AND EXPERIENCED A SURGE IN POWER AND IT PULLED THE NOSE OVER, SHREDDING THE PROPELLER. HE CALLED FOR A TOW AND RETURNED TO THE HANGAR. THIS WAS INTENDED TO BE THE FIRST TEST FLIGHT AFTER HIGH-SPEED TAXI TESTS OF AN EXPERIMENTAL AIRCRAFT BUILT BY THE PILOT. AFTER THE INCIDENT THE ELEVATOR WAS RIGGED TO ALLOW MORE ELEVATOR UP TRAVEL IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE KIT'S MANUAL.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
