## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON 12/15/2003 BRADLEY CORDS DEPARTED CORONA AIRPORT WITH ONE PASSENGER DESTINED FOR TORRENCE, CA. AIRCRAFT IMMEDIATELY COLLIDED WITH TERRAIN 500 YARDS WEST OF THE DEPARTURE END OF RUNWAY 25. THE AIRCRAFT WAS OWNED AND OPERATED BY THE STUDENT PILOT. BOTH THE PILOT AND PASSENGER WERE FATALLY INJURED. THE RECORDED GATE VIDEO THAT REGISTERED THE ENTRANCE OF THE PILOT'S AUTO SHOWED DENSE FOG AT THE APPROX TIME OF THE ACCIDENT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB LAX04FA081](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/LAX04FA081), Dec 15, 2003: Cessna 150J (N61303), Corona, CA, destroyed, 2 fatal. Probable cause: The student pilot's intentional VFR flight into instrument meteorological conditions, and his failure to maintain aircraft control as a result of spatial disorientation.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
