## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) PIC NOTED THAT JUST BEFORE CLOSURE OF PASSENGER DOOR A WARNING MESSAGE "SMOKE CARGO" ILLUMINATED IN THE COCKPIT. CREW WAITED ABOUT 15 SECONDS TOSEE IF THE SITUATION CORRECTED ITSELF. WHEN IT DID NOT, THE CREW DETERMINED TO PROCEED WITH THE IMMEDIATE ACTION ITEMS AND QRH. AFTER THE COMPLETION OF THE QRH, A RAMP AGENT ARRIVED IN THE COCKPIT SAYING THAT SOMETHING HAD SPRAYED ALL OVER HIM IN THE CARGO COMPARTMENT. THE PIC THEN ASKED THE RAMP AGENT TO BRING THE JET WAY BACK TO THE AIRPLANE. THE PIC NOTIFIED THE FLIGHT ATTENDANT OF THE SITUATION AND AFTER MAKING AN ANNOUNCEMENT TO THE PASSENGERS; THE PASSENGERS DEPARTED THE AIRCRAFT. THE CARGO WAS REMOVED FROM THE CARGO COMPARTMENT AND NO SIGN OF SMOKE OR FIRE WAS DISCOVERED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
