## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) AFTER DEPARTING BAYTOWN AIRPORT THE ENGINE BEGAN TO RUN ROUGH WITH A LOSS OF POWER. NO MORE THAN 800 RPM COULD BE MAINTAINED. THE PILOT EXECUTED AN EMERGENCY LANDING ON FM ROAD 1405 SOUTH OF FM 565 IN BAYTOWN, TEXAS. THE AIRCRAFT WAS NOT DAMAGED NOR WAS THE PILOT AND TWO PASSENGERS INJURED. THE AIRCRAFT WAS INSPECTED AND A DETERMINATION WAS MADE THAT THE #1 CYLINDER HAD FAILED DUE TO A DROPPED VALVE. THE CYLINDER ASSY. WAS REMOVED AND REPLACED. AIRCRAFT ENGINE WAS GROUND RUN, LEAK CHECKED OK AND RETURNED TO SERVICE. THE ROAD WAS BLOCKED OFF BY LAW ENFORCEMENT AND THE AIRCRAFT WAS FLOWN OUT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
