## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE PILOT-IN-COMMAND AND HIS INSTRUCTOR WERE PRACTICING LANDINGS ON THIS DUAL INSTRUCTIONAL FLIGHT AT THE DEER PARK AIRPORT. THE FINAL LANDING ATTEMPTED WAS A NO FLAP WHEEL LANDING. AFTER TOUCH DOWN THE AIRCRAFT SWERVED TO THE LEFT AND THE PILOT OVER-COMPENSATED TO THE RIGHT. THE AIRCRAFT SUBSEQUENTLY EXPERIENCED SEVERAL ADDITIONAL CORRECTIONAL SWERVES AND THEN DEPARTED THE RUNWAY OFF THE RIGHT SIDE AT ABOUT A THIRTY DEGREE ANGLE. AT THE EDGE OF THE RUNWAY THE AIRCRAFT HIT A SNOW BERM THAT WAS APPROXIMATELY THIRTY INCHES HIGH. THE AIRCRAFT FLIPPED OVER, END OVER END, AND CAME TO REST ON THE SNOW UPSIDE DOWN, TAIL FIRST IN THE INFIELD BETWEEN THE RUNWAY AND TAXIWAY.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB SEA04LA034](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/SEA04LA034), Jan 14, 2004: Cessna 185F (N185WB), Deer Park, WA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The dual student pilot's failure to maintain directional control during the landing roll and the failure of the flight instructor to provide remedial action. A factor was snowbank.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
