## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON 01/17/2004, SILVAIR N9908C WAS INVOLVED IN A "GROUND LOOP" INCIDENT AT CLINTON COUNTY AIRPORT, NY (PLB). THERE WERE NO INJURIES OR OTHER PROPERTY DAMAGE. MAINTENANCE DETERMINED THAT THE LEFT BRAKE FROZE, CAUSING THE "GROUND LOOP" AND SUBSEQUENT UPSET OF THE AIRCRAFT. AIRFRAME DAMAGE IS CONSIDERED "MINOR" AND IS AS FOLLOWS: PROP/ENGINE - SUDDEN STOPPAGE, WINDSCREEN - CRACKED, VERTICAL STAB TIP - CRUSHED, FORWARD TIP OF RUDDER - BENT. PROBABLE CAUSE WAS THE FREEZING OF THE LEFT MECHANICAL BRAKE DUE TO EXTREME COLD TEMPERATURE. THIS INCIDENT IS CONSIDERED CLOSED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
