## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON 01/25/2004, DURING TAKEOFF, SWIA FLIGHT #3948 (ONT/SLC) NOSE LANDING GEAR FAILED TO RETRACT. THE AIRCRAFT DIVERTED TO PSP (DUE TO SWIA MX FACILITY). UPON LANDING, BOTH NLG TIRES BLEW. THE CAPTAIN WAS ABLE TO MAINTAIN CONTROL, AND STOP THE AIRCRAFT WITHOUT INJURY TO CREW/PASSENGERS, OR ANY HULL DAMAGE. SWIA PSP MAINTENANCE DISCOVERED THE NLG DRAGE BRACE DISCONNECTED (QUICK DISCONNECT PINS NOT SEATED). THE PINS WERE SEATED, AND BOTH NLG TIRES WERE REPLACED. THE AIRCRAFT, WITH PASSENGERS, DEPARTED FOR SLC.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
