## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) DURING AN ATTEMPTED LANDING AT STP, THE AIRCRAFT NOSE GEAR AND PROPELLER CONTACTED THE RUNWAY SURFACE, RESULTING IN MINOR DAMAGE TO THE PROPELLER AND A PORTION OF THE NOSE-GEAR ASSEMBLY. BASED UPON INFORMATION RELATED TO THIS INSPECTOR DURING AN INTERVIEW WITH THE PILOT AT THE MSP FSDO ON 02/02/2004, THE PILOT STATED SHE THOUGHT HER APPROACH TO THE RUNWAY AT STP APPEARED A LITTLE SHORT, SO SHE ADDED SOME POWER. SHE FURTHER STATED THAT ENTERING THE FLARE, SHE TOUCHED DOWN PERHAPS NOSE GEAR FIRST, THEN BECAME AIRBORNE. SHE THEN ENTERED INTO A SERIES OF PIO'S, THE 3RD CONTACT WITH THE RUNWAY BEING QUITE SEVERE. AT THIS POINT SHE EXECUTED A GO-AROUND, RE-ENTERED THE PATTERN, AND RETURNED FOR A NORMAL LANDING. AFTER SECURING THE ENGINE, SHE NOTED THE DAMAGED PROPELLER. SHE STATED SHE DETECTED NO UNUSUAL PERFORMANCE OR AIRCRAFT VIBRATION DURING THE GO-AROUND AND SUBSEQUENT APPROACH AND LANDING.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
