## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE AIRCRAFT WAS DISPATCHED FROM PTK AT AROUND 17:00 ON 1/29/2004 TO GO TO DET AND PICK UP A LOAD OF FREIGHT. THE AIRCRAFT HAD BEEN PARKED OUTSIDE FOR ABOUT 3 WEEKS PRIOR TO THE TRIP IN FRIGID WEATHER. THE TRIP TO DET WAS UNEVENTFUL, THE AIRCRAFT WAS LOADED WITH THE FREIGHT AND THEN DEPARTED DET, BOUND FOR AKRON-CANTON OH. AFTER DEPARTURE FROM DET, THE PILOT SELECTED "GEAR UP" AND THE GEAR WOULD NOT COME UP. THIS WAS REPEATED 2 MORE TIMES WIT THE SAME RESULTS. THE PILOT DECIDED TO DIVERT BACK TO PTK, SELECTED "GEAR DOWN" AND LANDED AT PTK. DURING ROLLOUT, BOTH MAIN GEAR SLOWLY RETRACTED UNTIL THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO REST ON THE FLAPS, NOSE GEAR, AND TAIL.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
