## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) SWIA N958SW WAS TAXIING TO GATE 86 VIA TAXIWAY "B" AND "C6". AFTER TURNING LEFT ONTO TAXIWAY "C6" THE CAPTAIN SAW A UNITED AIRLINES PICK UP TRUCK ON SERVICE ROAD "C" HEADING TOWARDS THE AIRCRAFT APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH. THE DRIVER WAS USING A CELL PHONE AND DID NOT APPEAR TO SEE THE AIRCRAFT. THE CAPTAIN IMMEDIATELY APPLIED BRAKES TO STOP THE AIRCRAFT, AT THIS POINT THE PICK UP TRUCK DRIVER SAW THE AIRCRAFT AND MADE A HARD LEFT TURN ATTEMPTING TO AVOID A COLLISION WITH THE AIRCRAFT. THE RIGHT AFT SIDE OF PICK UP TRUCKS CAB, STRUCK THE AIRCRAFT AT THE MID WING LEADING EDGE OF THE PORT WING, AND THE PICK UP TRUCK BED AREA WENT UNDER THE WING, DAMAGING THE TWO OUTBOARD FLAP ACTUATOR HOUSINGS.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
