## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ACCORDING TO THE PILOT, WHILE IN CRUISE FLIGHT THE AIRCRAFT SUDDENLY WENT INTO A LEFT BANK AND NOSE DOWN ATTITUDE. WHEN THE PILOT REDUCED POWER THE BANK AND NOSE DOWN ANGLES INCREASED. THE PILOT WAS ABLE TO REDUCE THE LEFT BANK AND NOSE DOWN ATTITUDE AND KEEP THE AIRCRAFT FROM ROLLING OVER BY APPLYING FULL POWER, AFT AND RIGHT STICK AND FULL RIGHT RUDDER. THE AIRCRAFT REMAINTED IN A LEFT BANK AND NOSE DOWN ATTITUDE UNTIL GROUND CONTACT. THE PILOT REDUCED POWER JUST PRIOR TO IMPACT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ANC04LA033](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ANC04LA033), Feb 29, 2004: Piper PA-15 (N4492H), Big Lake, AK, substantial damage. Probable cause: An in-flight loss of control for an undetermined reason, which resulted in a forced landing and in-flight collision with trees.

## Other reports on N4492H (1)

- [Accident 19950106044109A](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19950106044109A), Jan 6, 1995: Piper PA15 (N4492H), Unalaska, AK, Substantial damage. Ground looped on landing roll. Right main gear collapsed. Wing dragged on ground. Low time and a leaky brake factor

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
