## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON FEBRUARY 29, 2004, AT 1930 ZULU, A CESSNA CE-310-Q, N69609 REGISTERED TO AND OPERATED BY GERALD V. WIEGLE, JR., DEPARTED FROM BATAVIA, OHIO (I69) TO RICHMOND, IN (RID). WHILE PERFORMING TOUCH AND GO ON RUNWAY 24, UNDER THE DIRECTION OF A CERTIFICATED FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR (CFI), MR. WIEGLE DID NOT EXTEND THE LANDING GEAR AND MADE A GEAR UP LANDING. BOTH PROPELLERS WERE BENT AND THE BOTTOM OF THE FUSELAGE SUSTAINED MINOR DAMAGE. MR. WIEGLE AND THE CFI, MR. CHARLES D. FAIRBANKS DID NOT SUSTAIN ANY INJURY. VISUAL METEOROLOGICAL CONDITIONS PREVAILED AT THE TIME AND A VFR FLIGHT PLAN WAS FILED. A TALK WITH MR. WIEGLE CONFIRMED THAT HE DID NOT EXTEND THE LANDING GEAR ON HIS THIRD TRY TOUCH AND GO. THE AIRCRAFT WAS JACKED UP, THE LANDING GEARS EXTENDED AND REMOVED FROM THE RUNWAY FOR FURTHER EVALUATION.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
