## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) AFTER LANDING AND TURNING RIGHT ON THE TAXIWAY THE AIRCRAFT MADE A GROUND LOOP OF MORE THAN 360 DEGREES WHEN THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED. THE SKID MARKS SHOWED BOTH MAIN LANDING GEAR TIRES WERE SKIDDING FOR ABOUT 60 FEET DURING THE TURN OFF THE RUNWAY ONTO THE TAXIWAY. THE LEFT GEAR TIRE SKID INDICATED THE FIBERGLASS WHEEL FAIRING WAS DRAGGING AND LEFT BEHIND RED AND WHIT PAINT AND FIBERGLASS RESIDUE ON THE TAXIWAY FOR ABOUT 10 MORE FEET. THE LEFT GEAR SKID MARK MADE A SMALL CIRCLE WHEN THE AIRCRAFT MADE ITS GROUND LOOP. THE ATTACHMENT SCREWS HAD BEEN PULLED THROUGH THE LEFT WHEEL FAIRING WHERE IT WAS ATTACHED TO THE INBOARD MOUNT. THE FAIRING WAS LOOSE AND INTERFERED WITH ROTATION OF THE TIRE. A STREAKY RESIDUE ON THE FAIRING INDICATES BRAKE FLUID HAD BEEN LEAKING FROM THE BRAKE CALIPER DURING FLIGHT. THE FRONT OF THE WHEEL FAIRING WAS WORN THROUGH BY SKIDDING ALONG ON THE TAXIWAY UNDER THE TIRE. THE BRAKE CALIPER FITTING WAS PULLED OUT OF THE BRAKE CALIPER AND WAS STILL ATTACHED TO THE HOSE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
