## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) PILOT/CFI WERE PRACTICING TOUCH AND GO LANDINGS. AIRCRAFT VEERED OFF RUNWAY 18. CFI STATED THAT PILOT SELECTED GEAR UP INSTEAD OF FLAPS UP AT CRITICAL TIME DURING TAKEOFF ROLL. ACCORDING TO CFI THERE IS ALSO A POSSIBILITY THAT SQUAT SWITCH DESIGNED TO PREVENT GEAR RETRACTION DID NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CHI04LA087](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CHI04LA087), Mar 13, 2004: Piper PA-28R-200 (N15118), Peru, IL, substantial damage. Probable cause: The inadvertent landing gear retraction by the dual student during the landing roll.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
