## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE PILOT DEPARTED BELLEVILLE LARSEN AIRPARK FOR CARLETON, WICKENHEISER AIRPORT FOR THE PURPOSE OF PURCHASING FUEL. LARSEN AIRPARK DOES NOT CURRENTLY OFFER FUELING SERVICE. AFTER ABOUT TEN MINUTES OF FLYING TIME THE ENGINE SPUTTERED AND STOPPED. THE PILOT FLEW THE AIRCRAFT TO A CORNFIELD, LOCATED APPROXIMATELY 3 MILES SOUTHWEST OF NEW BOSTON, AND LANDED. DURING ROLLOUT HE HIT SOFT GROUND AND THE AIRCRAFT FLIPPED. THE PILOT WAS UNINJURED AND EXTRICATED HIMSELF FROM THE AIRCRAFT. DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT WAS LIMITED TO A SLIGHTLY BENT PROPELLER, TWO SMALL HOLES IN THE UPPER WING SURFACE, A BROKEN ANTENNA, AND A DENTED/CRUSHED UPPER RUDDER SURFACE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
