## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE PILOT STATED THAT AFTER HE INITIATED A TOUCH AND GO, THE AIRCRAFT DEVELOPED A SEVERE VIBRATION. HE THEN CALLED OUT ON HIS RADIO THAT HE NEEDED TO LAND IMMEDIATELY. WHILE IN THE TRAFFIC PATTERN AND ON SHORT FINAL HE OBSERVED THREE AIRCRAFT WAITING TO DEPART. THE PILOT ELECTED TO CONTINUE AROUND THE TRAFFIC PATTERN, BUT COULD NOT SUSTAIN ENOUGH POWER OR AIR SPEED TO MAKE A CONTROLLED LANDING. THE AIRCRAFT BASICALLY STALLED AND IMPACTED THE GROUND. THE PILOT ELECTED TO LAND ON THE GRASS THAT RUNS PARALLEL TO THE RUNWAY. THE PILOT STATED THAT HE LANDED AT AN ESTIMATED SPEED OF 75 MILES PER HOUR, AT WHICH TIME THE LANDING GEAR COLLAPSED. THE PILOT AND HIS BROTHER LOADED THE AIRCRAFT ON A TRAILER AND TRANSPORTED THE AIRCRAFT TO APEX AIRPARK.
