## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) INSTRUCTOR AND (PRE-SOLO) STUDENT PILOT RETURNED FROM AN INSTRUCTIONAL FLIGHT. WHILE THE STUDENT PILOT WAS TAXIING TO THE PARKING AREA, THE AIRPLANE'S RIGHT WING STRUCK A SUPPORT POST ON THE TERMINAL BUILDING PORCH RESULTING IN SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO THE AIRPLANE AND MINOR DAMAGE TO THE PORCH.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CHI04CA092](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CHI04CA092), Mar 22, 2004: Cessna 150J (N51365), Gardner, KS, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's inadequate visual lookout and failure to maintain clearance from the post. A factor was the post.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
