## Narrative

ON MARCH 27, 2004, FIRST OFFICER (F/O) WAS SCHEDULED TO ACT AS A F/O ON ALOHA AIRLINES FLIGHT 441 FROM OAKL AND (OAK) TO HONOLULU (HNL). AT APPROXIMATELY 0835 HRS. PST, TSA SCREENERS AT METROPOLITAN OAKLAND INTERNATIONAL NOTICED A SMELL OF ALCOHOL ON F/O AS HE WAS PASSING THROUGH SCREENING. TSA NOTIFIED OAKLAND POLICE (OPD). OPD WENT TO ALOHA GATE 11. F/O WAS IN THE JETWAY; HE HAD NOT BOARDED THE AIRPLANE. OPD ESCORED F/O TO THEIR FACILITY IN THE OAK TERMINAL WHERE THEY ADMINISTERED TWO PRELIMINARY ALCOHOL SCREENING TESTS (PAST) TO F/O. THE TEST RESULTS WERE 0.182% AND 0.179%. NEXT, OPD TOOK F/O TO HIGHLAND HOSPITAL WHERE AN EMERGENCY ROOM (ER) REGISTERED NURSE (RN) ADMINISTERED A BREATH TEST. THE RESULT WAS 0.103% FAR 91.17(A) (4)ALCOHOL LIMIT IS 0.04%. FAR 121.458(B) LIMIT IS 0.04%. ALL THREE BREATH TESTS SHOW F/O REGISTERED WELL ABOVE THE REGULATORY LIMIT. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
