## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) PILOT, MR. GEOFFREY OLDER STATED IN HIS SIGNED STATEMENT, THAT ON SUNDAY MARCH 28, 2004, AT APPROXIMATELY 1600 HOURS, LANDED ON RUNWAY 33 WHICH IS 50 FEET WIDE. THE AIRPORT DOES NOT HAVE TAXIWAYS. THEREFORE THE ONLY WAY TO GET TO THE PARKING AREA IS TO TAXI ON THE GRASS OR MAKE A 180 DEGREE TURN AND BACK TAXI ON THE RUNWAY TO THE PARKING AREA. BECAUSE THERE WAS ONLY ONE OTHER AIRPLANE VISIBLE PARKED AT THE AIRPORT AND NO AIRCRAFT RESPONDING TO HIS RADIO TRANSMISSION ON 122.9, HE ELECTED TO BACK-TAXI ON THE RUNWAY APRON, WHICH IS LOCATED MIDFIELD. AS HE WAS TURNING AROUND AT THE END OF 33, THE WHEELS WENT OFF INTO THE SOFT GRASS AND THE PROPS WHICH ARE 7 INCHES GROUND CLEARING, STRUCK A MARKER LIGHT BUT DID NOT BREAK IT. BECAUSE THE PROPS ARE WOOD, IT BROKE ONE BLADE LIKE SPLINTERED BASEBALL BAT.

## Other reports on N240X (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Incident 20070814825089I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/20070814825089I), Aug 14, 2007: Tridnt TR1 (N240X), Indianapolis, IN, Minor damage. (-23) Nose gear failed during the landing roll out and the propeller struck the ground while exiting the runway to the taxiway.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
