## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) PILOT STATES IT WAS A NORMAL APPROACH TO RUNWAY 8 AT N70. WIND WAS FROM THE RIGHT VARYING FROM 110-150 DEGREES AT 7 GUSTING TO 14, AS PER AWOS ON FIELD. AIRCRAFT WAS APPROXIMATELY 2 FEET ABOVE THE RUNWAY AND DROPPED TO THE RUNWAY. AIRCRAFT BOUNCED AND SOME POWER WAS APPLIED TO CONTROL THE AIRCRAFT. AIRCRAFT TURNED LEFT APPROXIMATELY 10 DEGREES AND DEPARTED THE RUNWAY STRIKING A RUNWAY LIGHT AND CONTINUED DOWN THE LEFT ON THE GRASS. THE SOFT GROUND ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE RUNWAY EVENTUALLY ALLOWED THE NOSE LANDING GEAR TO DIG IN AND THE AIRCRAFT TURNED OVER, END OVER END. AIRCRAFT WAS BEING OPERATED UNDER 14 CFR PART 91. THERE WERE 2 PERSONS ON BOARD AND NO INJURIES.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB NYC04CA097](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/NYC04CA097), Mar 28, 2004: Cessna 182T (N182VM), Perkasie, PA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilots' inadequate compensation for winds and his failure to maintain directional control during landing. A factor related to the accident was the gusting wind conditions.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
