## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE PILOT WAS APPROACHING TO LAND AT HIS PRIVATE AIRSTRIP LOCATED AT HIS HOME. THE GRASS RUNWAY RUNS EAST-WEST AND IS APPROXIMATELY 1,000 FEET LONG WITH TALL TREES AT THE EAST END AND A SHORT FENCE AT THE WEST END. THE WIND WAS FROM THE WEST AT ABOUT 10 KNOTS. A PASSENGER FLYING OVERHEAD IN A SMALL AIRCRAFT OBSERVED THE AIRCRAFT MAKE A DOWNWIND APPROACH TO THE EAST. THE WITNESS OBSERVED THE ENTIRE APPROACH TO THE POINT WHERE THE AIRCRAFT WAS ABOUT TWO THIRDS OF THE WAY DOWN THE RUNWAY WHERE IT THEN INITATED A GO-AROUND. THE WITNESS WAS NOT SURE IF THE AIRCRAFT ACTUALLY TOUCHED DOWN OR NOT. SHE OBSERVED THE AIRCRAFT AS IT CONTINUED TOWARD THE TREES AT THE EAST END OF THE RUNWAY AND SAW THE ACCIDENT. THE PILOT STATED TO RESCUE PERSONNEL THAT HE HAD "OVERSHOT HIS LANDING."

## NTSB investigation

None matched to this report by aircraft and date. Search the NTSB's own records: https://data.ntsb.gov/carol-main-public/basic-search

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
