## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON 04/12/04, AT APPROX. 1600, ACFT N8872T DEPARTED UKIAH AIRPORT ENROUTE TO GARBERVILLE AIRPORT. PILOT MELVIN SELINGER STATED HE CIRCLED GARBERVILLE AIRPORT FOR A SHORT TIME AND ALLOWED A PLANE TO LAND BEFORE HIM. HE MADE A STANDARD APPROACH, FOLLOWING THE SAME PATTERN AS THE PLANE BEFORE HIM. HE STATED, HE TRIED TO PUT THE ACFT DOWN ON THE RUNWAY, BUT WAS UNABLE BECAUSE THE WIND HAD SWITCHED DIRECTIONS AND WAS SWIRLING. THE WIND BLEW THE ACFT OFF THE RUNWAY AND ONTO THE GRASS BETWEEN THE RUNWAYS. A TAIL WIND DEVELOPED AND HE COULD NOT STOP THE ACFT. THE ACFT ROLLED OFF THE END OF THE RUNWAY AND DOWN THE EMBANKMENT. THE ACFT FLIPPED OVER AND LANDED ON ITS TOP. NO INJURIES TO PILOT OR PASSENGER. SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGED TO ACFT.

## NTSB investigation

None matched to this report by aircraft and date. Search the NTSB's own records: https://data.ntsb.gov/carol-main-public/basic-search

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
