## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) INVESTIGATED OCCURRENCE RECEIVED VIA FAX FROM GREAT LAKES ROC; COMAIR FLIGHT NUMBER 5311 ENROUTE FROM EVANSVILLE, IN, TO ATLANTA, GA, REPORTED EXCESSIVE SURFACE PRESSURE ON THE ELEVATORS AND DECLARED AN EMERGENCY. THE AIRCRAFT RETURNED TO EVANSVILLE AND LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT AT 1213Z. THE PILOT REPORTED IN THE AIRCRAFT LOGBOOK ON LOG PAGE #097652-01, AFTER TAKEOFF THE STAB/MOC TRIM CAUTION MESSAGE ON EICAS FOLLOWED BY STABILIZER CHANNEL #2 INOPERATIVE MESSAGE. COMAIR MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL R&R THE HORIZONTAL SITUATION CONTROL UNIT AND THE STABILIZER MOC TRIM PANEL. THE AIRCRAFT WAS RELEASED ON A FERRY FLIGHT FROM EVV TO CVG FOR RII AND OVERWEIGHT LANDING INSPECTION. THE PMI WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT HE WOULD MEET THE AIRCRAFT IN CVG TO REVIEW THE MAINTENANCE RECORDS. NO FURTHER INVESTIGATION REQUIRED BY THIS ASI.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
