## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) CHAUTAUQUA AIRLINES FLIGHT 3057, AN E145, DECLARED A MINIMAL FUEL EMERGENCY AT 1926E, AND LANDED ON RUNWAY 28R AT 1940E, WITHOUT INCIDENT. THE INBOUND FLIGHT #3057 WAS GIVEN HOLDING TWICE BECAUSE PRESIDENT BUSH WAS PREPARING TO DEPART PIT BUT WAS RUNNING EARLY. CAPTAIN VAUGHN ACTUALLY DID DO ONE APPROACH BUT WAS INSTRUCTED TO GO MISSED BECAUSE OF THE PRESIDENT. A TC GAVE HIM ANOTHER HOLD AND INFORMED HIM THAT THEY HAD NO EFC TIME. CAPTAIN VAUGHN DID NOT HAVE ENOUGH FUEL TO DIVERT SO HIS ONLY OPTION AT THE TIME WAS TO DECLARE MINIMUM FUEL. HE DID LAND WITH 2300# ON BOARD AND WAS ONLY 6MINUTES LATE. HIS DECISION WAS MADE ON THE FACT THAT ATC WOULD NOT AND COULD NOT GIVE HIM AN EFC TIME FROM HOLDING. SUBMISSION OF THIS REPORT CLOSES THIS INCIDENT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
