## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) N3050J GOT GAS AT LLANO, TX, MUNICIPAL AIRPORT AND FLEW TO BURNET AND THEN TO COLMAN FOR TOUCH AND GO'S. ON THE RETURN TO LLANO, TX, THE ENGINE QUIT AND CRASHED AT NIGHT. THE AIRPLANE'S LEFT WING HIT AN OAK TREE SPINNING THE PLANE AROUND WITH THE TAIL INTO A FENCE, DESTROYED THE PLANE. TACH FLIGHT TIME FROM REFUELING WAS 4.3 HRS.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB FTW04CA122](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/FTW04CA122), May 3, 2004: Cessna 150E (N3050J), Goldthwaite, TX, destroyed. Probable cause: The pilot's inadequate in-flight planning and decision not to refuel, which resulted in a loss of engine power due to fuel exhaustion. A contributing factor was the dark night conditions.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
