## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE AIRCRAFT DEPARTED LZU FOR WDR AT AROUND 2130. ACCORDING TO WITNESSES, THE AIRCRAFT ENGINES WERE SPUTTERING AS THE AIRCRAFT WAS MAKING A LEFT TURN. THE AIRCRAFT IMPACTED THE GROUND IN AN OPEN FIELD ON THE PROPERTY OF ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ WHICH IS 1.3 MILES SHORT OF THE RUNWAY AT WDR. THE WRECKAGE WAS LOCATED AT APPROXIMATELY 0000. INTERVIEW WITH THE PILOT REVEALED THAT THE LEFT ENGINE LOST POWER AND THE RIGHT ONE LOST POWER SEVERAL SECONDS LATER. UPON EXAMINATION OF THE WRECKAGE, THE FUEL SELECTORS WERE IN THE MAIN POSITION AND THE MAIN TANKS WERE EMPTY. THE AUXILIARY TANKS WERE APPROXIMATELY HALF FULL. UPON RECOVERY OF THE WRECKAGE, THERE WAS 1 1/2 TO 2 OUNCES OF FUEL IN THE MAIN FUEL STRAINERS.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ATL04CA106](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ATL04CA106), May 4, 2004: Beech BE-65 (LF-23F) (N870KS), Winder, GA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's mismanagement of the fuel supply resulted in fuel starvation and a loss of power in both engines.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
