## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON MAY 5, 2004 SHORTLY BEFORE 1300 LOCAL TIME THE APPROPRIATELY RATED AND QUALIFIED PILOT AND SOLE OCCUPANT DEPARTED PALWAUKEE AIRPORT, CHICAGO ON AN IFR FLIGHT PLAN TO CHATTANOOGA, TN. WHILE WORKING CHICAGO DEPARTURE CONTROL ON AN ASSIGNED HEADING OF 180 AND LEVEL AT 6,000 FEET THE PIC EXPERIENCED A TOTAL ELECTRICAL SYSTEM FAILURE AT ABOUT 1310 LOCAL TIME. THE PIC CONTINUED ON THE ASSIGNED HEADING AND ALTITUDE UNTIL OBSERVING THE DANVILLE, IL AIRPORT, WHERE AN UNEVENTFUL LANDING WAS MADE ON RUNWAY 23. THE PIC EXITED THE AIRCRAFT WITHOUT INCIDENT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
