## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE STUDENT PILOT AND CERTIFIED FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR (CFI) WERE APPROACHING RUNWAY 28 FOR LANDING. AS THEY CROSSED OVER THE THRESHOLD, THE PLANE WEAS SLIGHTLY LEFT OF CENTERLINE. THE STUDENT PILOT ATTEMPTED TO USE RIGHT RUDDER TO CORRECT FOR THE CENTERLINE DEVIATION INSTEAD OF USING RIGHT AILERON. THE STUDENT PILOT OVERCORRECTED WITH THE RUDDER, WHICH PUT THE PLANE ALMOST PERPENDICULAR TO THE RUNWAY. THE CFI REACTED BY STEPPING ON THE LEFT RUDDER TO STRAIGHTEN OUT THE NOSE IN ORDER TO GET THE PLANE PARALLEL TO THE RUNWAY. AT THIS POINT, THE PLANE WAS FARTHER LEFT OF THE CENTERLINE AND THE LEFT WING STRUCK THE ROLL BAR ON A TRACTOR THAT WAS MOWING THE LAWN RIGHT ALONGSIDE OF THE RUNWAY. THE AIRCRAFT LANDED ON THE RUNWAY BUT THE WING SUSTAINED MAJOR DAMAGES TO THE LEADING EDGE AND UNDERSIDE OF THE WING.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
