## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON MAY 13, 2004, N1159D MADE AN EMERGENCY LANDING AT MARANA ARIZONA CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE UNDER SIDE OF THE FUSELAGE. SUBSEQUENT INVESTIGATION REVEALED THAT THE ENGINE HAD A HOLE IN THE CRANKCASE AND A BROKEN CRANKSHAFT. THE AIRCRAFT HAD BEEN FLOWN APPROXIMATELY 10 HOURS AFTER A CYLINDER AND TURBOCHARGER CHANGE. FURTHER INVESTIGATION IS ANTICIPATED INTO THE HISTORY OF THE ENGINE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
