## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE MU-2B-60 WAS ARRIVING FROM THE EAST ON A HEADING OF APPROX. 280 DEGREES CLEARED FOR A VISUAL APPROACH TO RUNWAY 33R. RADAR DATA SHOW THE FLIGHT PATH OF THE MU-2 FAVORING AN ARRIVAL TO RUNWAY 15L. THE AIRCRAFT WAS AT 1400 FEET AND 3.5 MILES FROM THE AIRPORT (203 KNOTS), 42 SECONDS LATER THE AIRCRAFT HAD DESCENDED TO 700 FEET AND WAS NOT 1.75 MILES FROM THE RUNWAY (176 KNOTS). AT THIS POINT THE AIRCRAFT MADE A SUDDEN LEFT TURN, WITH HEADING CHANGE OF APPROX. 80 DEGREES AND A RAPID DESCENT TO 200 FEET (155 KNOTS) AND DROPPED FROM THE RADAR. THE AIRCRAFT CRASHED LESS THAN A MILE FROM RUNWAY 33R/15L INTO A WOODED RESIDENTIAL AREA, THE DEBRIS PATH WAS APPROX. 300 FEET IN LENGTH ON AN APPROX. HEADING OF 200 DEGREES WITH AN ESTIMATED APPROACH ANGLE OF 30 DEGREES. IT APPEARS THE LEFT WING IMPACTED THE TREES FIRST, LEAVING BEHIND THE LEFT TIP TANK, THE ROLLED INVERTED AND LOST THE RIGHT WING WHICH STARTED A FIRE UPON IMPACT. THE LEFT WING AND ENGINE NOW ON THE RIGHT SIDE IMPACTED A TREE AND SEPARATED FROM THE FUSELAGE, THE NOSE OF THE AIRCRAFT IMPACTED AND THE ENTIRE FUSELAGE FLIPPED END OVER END AND CAME TO REST IN A DRIVEWAY BETWEEN 2 HOUSES APPROX. 75 FEET FROM THE LEFT WING AND ENGINE.
