## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) PILOT STATED THAT HE WAS PRACTICING TOUCH & GO LANDINGS. DURING THE LAST LANDING PHASE, WHILE ATTEMPTING TO LAND INTO A SLIGHT CROSSWIND FROM THE RIGHT, A "DUST DEVIL" SUDDENLY DEVELOPED AND BLEW HIM OFF THE RUNWAY. WHEN HE EXITED THE AIRSTRIP, THE LANDING GEAR COLLAPSED AND THE AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO THE WINGS AND FUSELAGE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB LAX04LA211](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/LAX04LA211), May 15, 2004: Cessna T182T (N5341G), Paulden, AZ, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's inadequate compensation for the wind conditions and failure to maintain an adequate airspeed.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
