## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE PILOT/OWNER REPORTS HE LANDED SHORT WHILE MAKING AN APPROACH, AND HIT A LOG. HE WAS CONCERNED ABOUT THE RUNWAY BEING SHORT. THE PILOT/OWNER REPORTS HE LOST THE LEFT AND RIGHT MAIN LANDING GEAR, AND SKIDDED UNTIL THE NOSE TIPPED UP AND THEN SETTLED BACK DOWN. WHEN THE NOSE TIPPED UP THE PROPELLER STRUCK AND THE ENGINE EXPERIENCED SUDDEN STOPPAGE. THE PILOT/OWNER REPORTS HIS WIFE ^PRIVAC^ WAS THE ONLY PASSENGER ONBOARD THE AIRCRAFT. THE PILOT/OWNER REPORTS BOTH HE AND HIS WIFE SUSTAINED NO INJURIES. WHEN QUESTIONED THE PILOT/OWNER CLEARLY ADMITTED THE CAUSE OF THE ACCIDENT WAS NOT MECHANICAL BUT IS PILOT ERROR.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB SEA04LA085](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/SEA04LA085), May 16, 2004: Stinson SR-10E (N27782), Eliza Island, WA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's misjudgment of altitude/distance resulting in an undershoot of the runway.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
