## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) GREAT LAKES AIRLINE, N96ZK, EMB 120-ER, FLIGHT 5014 ON DEPARTURE LOST OIL PRESSURE ON LEFT ENGINE AT 8000' MSL. FLIGHT CREW DECLARED AN EMERGENCY AND SECURED LEFT ENGINE. AIRCRAFT LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT. MAINTENANCE REPLACED THE LEFT PROPELLER CONTROL UNIT (PCU) WITH A OVERHAULED UNIT PRIOR TO THE FLIGHT. ALL REQUIRED OPERATIONAL CHECKS WERE PERFORMED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE MAINTENANCE MANUAL. PCU PART NUMBER 782490-46 SERIAL NUMBER 900894 HAD TSO "0", TSN "11203" AND TCSN "13435". AT TIME OF PCU FAILURE, UNIT HAD A TOTAL OF .3 HOURS TSO. TEAR DOWN OF PCU BY THE REPAIR STATION INDICATED THAT A SHEARED OFF SCREW ON THE TORQUE MOTOR COVER IS WHERE OIL PRESSURE WAS LOST. SDR WAS FILED BY GREAT LAKES AVIATION, LTD.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
