## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON MAY 29, 2004, AT APPROXIMATELY 1400 CDT, GLIDER HP11A, N678P, EXPERIENCED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE DUE TO A HARD LANDING AT CHERRY VALLEY, ARKANSAS. THE PRIVATE PILOT STATED THAT THE AIRCRAFT STALLED WHILE ATTEMPTING TO LAND. THE GLIDER 'DROPPED LIKE A ROCK' AND STRUCK THE GROUND LEFT WING FIRST, FOLLOWED BY THE TAIL. THE WINDS WERE LIGHT, THE WEATHER WAS CLEAR, AND THE GRASS LANDING STRIP WAS DRY. THE ACCIDENT OCCURRED ON THE FIRST DAY THE PILOT WAS ATTEMPTING TO FLY THIS AIRCRAFT. THE PILOT (THE SOLE OCCUPANT) DID NOT RECEIVE ANY INJURIES. VISUAL METEOROLOGICAL CONDITIONS PREVAILED, AND NO FLIGHT PLAN WAS FILED FOR THE 14 CODE OF FEDERAL REGULATIONS PART 91 LOCAL FLIGHT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
