## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) STINSON 108-2, N9816K, TOOK OFF FROM SPAULDING AIRPORT (1Q2) RUNWAY 16 AND IMPACTED A SMALL TREE LOCATED APPROXIMATELY 300 YARDS BEYOND THE SOUTH END OF THE RUNWAY, ABOUT 120 YARDS TO THE RIGHT OF RUNWAY CENTERLINE. ONE WITNESS REPORTED THE PILOT REPORTING OVER THE RADIO THAT HE HAD LEFT THE OIL CAP OFF. ANOTHER WITNESS REPORTED THE AIRCRAFT TURNED LEFT THEN RIGHT AFTER TAKEOFF AND STRUCK THE GROUND. OIL CAP WAS MISSING FROM THE ENGINE AND COULD NOT BE LOCATED. PILOT STATED HE COULD NOT REMEMBER THE ACCIDENT, BUT THAT HIS PAST EXPERIENCE DEMONSTRATED THAT A LOSS OF OIL CAP ON TAKEOFF DOES NOT COMPROMISE VISIBILITY.
