## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) AT 1642EDT, FLIGHT 4876 DIVERTED AND LANDED ON RUNWAY 02 AT ORF DUE TO A NUMBER 2 ENGINE SHUT DOWN. THE ARFF RESPONDED AND THE AIRCRAFT TAXIED TO THE RAMP WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT. THE ENGINE WAS SHUT DOWN IN FLIGHT DUE TO THE NUMBER 2 ENGINE EXPERIENCING A COMPRESSOR STALL. INVESTIGATION BY MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL REVEALED THAT THE INLET GUIDE VANES WHICH ARE CONTROLLED BY THE FUEL CONTROL UNIT HAD FAILED TO FUNCTION PROPERLY.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
