## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) AIRCRAFT DEPARTED KAYENTA AIRPORT ENROUTE TO FLAGSTAFF. DURING CRUISE FLIGHT PILOT NOTICED A REDUCTION IN MANIFOLD PRESSURE. HE STATED THAT HE ADDED MORE THROTTLE. MR. FELDNER THEN STATED THAT A FEW MINUTES LATER HE NOTICED A LARGE DROP IN PRESSURE AND THEN NOTICED THAT THE OIL PRESSURE WAS AT THE RED LINE. HE DECLARED AN EMERGENCY AND CALCULATED THAT HE WASN'T GOING TO MAKE THE AIRPORT AND DECIDED TO LAND THE AIRCRAFT ON A ROAD. HE MADE A SUCCESSFUL LANDING BUT ON THE ROLL OUT HE STRUCK A GUARD RAIL WITH THE RIGHT WING. THE RIGHT WING WAS SEVERED FROM THE AIRCRAFT. A POST INSPECTION OF THE AIRCRAFT REVEALED THAT ONE OF THE OIL LINES CAME IN CONTACT WITH THE EXHAUST PIPE FOR THE TURBO CHARGER AND CREATED THE OIL LEAK.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB LAX04LA232](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/LAX04LA232), Jun 5, 2004: Beech S35 (N6127Q), Flagstaff, AZ, substantial damage. Probable cause: oil exhaustion due to a leak from the bottom oil drain line gasket and o-ring for the turbo charger.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
