## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) N848CE WAS IN PROCESS OF ANNUAL TRAINING FLIGHT. AFTER A SERIES OF DIFFERENT CONFIGURATIONS IN WHICH THE GEAR HAD BEEN CYCLED APPX 5 TIMES, THE PIC HEARD A CLUNK AND WAS UNABLE TO GET POSITIVE INDICATION THE NLG WAS DOWN AND LOCKED. DID OVERFLY OF TOWER AND SEVERAL "G" MANUEVERS AND WAS UNSUCCESSFUL IN GETTING NLG DOWN AND LOCKED. PIC DECLARED AN EMERGENCY, BTL CFR RESPONDED. AIRCRAFT LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT UNTIL APPX 40 KTS WHEREUPON THE NLG COLLAPSED AND THE AIRCRAFT SKIDDED ON THE NLG DOORS AND BELLY SKIN FOR APPX 400-500'. NO INJURIES WERE SUSTAINED BY PIC OR THE 2 PAX. DAMAGE LIMITED TO GEAR DOORS AND BELLY SKIN, CONSIDERED MINOR DAMAGE. SUBSEQUENT INSPECTION REVEALED THAT THE LEFT NLG DOOR BELL CRANK FAILED CAUSING THE ACTUATOR ROD TO BLOCK THE NLG FROM FULLY EXTENDING. SUBMITTING SAFETY RECOMMENDATION TO FAA AAI.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
